Super Bowl 2013 Sign Language Guy - I Got Hand Insurance.
LOS ANGELES - John Maucere tells TMZ, his hands are just like Dolly Parton's boobs ... Jennifer Lopez's butt ... or Tom Jones' chest hair, so valuable they need their own freakin' insurance policy but there's a lot more to sign language than just hands.
John raised his hands, joking, "I have insurance." He added, "Hands are important, but you should know American Sign Language isn't specific just for hands.

Mashed Potatoes interpretation in Chilean Sign Language by Nerven & Zellen with subtitles.
This video clip of our project NZcanal is a connector between the Deaf, the hearing community, music and art. Created with the aim of becoming a platform of visual entertainment for the entire family, through the dissemination of musical culture and video clip, in order to bring this language to the Deaf community.
The project consists of the translation (if necessary) of the artists lyrics national, international, current and legends, then adapt under the syntax of sign language, to finally perform the song in that language with the development of a new video clip, under the concepts of our collective aesthetic Nerven & Zellen: http://www.nervenzellen.cl
As Deaf people may have a closeness with lyrics and musical styles of each artist can also add new words to their vocabulary through the subtitle system. Moreover, hearing people may associate words and signs to become familiar with this language.
In a near future we hope to have a wide range of musical styles that can give life to this channel
stormFx presents: Jabberwocky 2012 American Sign Language video by Bjorn Storm. - An interpretation of Lewis Carroll's poem (1871) as a short film with subtitled for the modern viewer.
A quick note about my interpretation... please remember that 'interpretation' applies to more than simply taking words from one language to the next. In the essence of "gibberish translates to gibberish" the intent, mood, and even events can change depending on context. Once the Tulgey Wood is understood to be a modern day tavern instead of a dark and scarey forest, the doors opened to a far more liberal take on the original story. Please, please view the original, signed interpretation of this piece by Joe Velez and Eric Malzkuhn back in 1968 here: http://videocatalog.gallaudet.edu/?id=6518
***Disclaimer: "The video that follow is not appropriate for children. This interpretation includes signs considered profane or vulgar.
For all you ASL students out there watching: please avoid furiously trying to gloss the signs I've used for "borogove" and "frumious", etc. HAHA! :P This is to be taken as a work of art, not the work of a professional interpreter. Stop analyzing and enjoy! ;) Love you guys!
I have so many people to thank for helping make my Tulgey Wood come to life! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, everyone who was involved. From all the colorful characters who showed up in their best for filming and stayed into the wee hours of night on a work day, to everybody behind the scenes, and perhaps more importantly - everybody who has had to listen to me blab about this endlessly for the last year - it wouldn't have been possible without you.
Meet Lydia Callis, the mayor's sign language interpretor who became the city's newest hearthrob. Stealing the show with her passionate facial expressions and signs.
Clearly there is nothing funny about mass casualties and a region under water. But Lydia Callis has at least given people something to smile about in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.
The sign language interpreter for Mayor Michael Bloomberg has gone viral. Mayor Bloomberg addresses the public while his signer feels the beat of the hurricane mane! as seen on YouTube.
The stories of devastation and destruction on the local news lately have not provided much in the way of relief unless, that is, you happened to catch sight of a sign language interpreter named Lydia Callis.
She has inspired a tribute Tumblr page: Lydia Callis’s Facial Expressions, which has compiled images of her expressions as she signs. In one photo, Mr. Bloomberg looks on from behind, seemingly fixated on her hands.

Syracuse, NY. - Former Onondaga County Family Court judge Bryan R. Hedges is accused of sexually abusing his 5-year-old Deaf niece 40 years ago. Ellen Cantwell Warner, the suspected victim in this case, spoke out at Vera House in Syracuse Thursday.
"An experience like this would be difficult for any child growing up, but it is especially difficult for a Deaf child, whose communication is limited. He preyed on my deafness," says Warner. "40 years of trauma have finally come to an end. I am at peace. The truth has set me free. I feel like a butterfly that has finally emerged."... American Sign Language Interpretation of Marilyn Manson's "This Is The New S#*t". by Bjorn Storm.
***Disclaimer: "The video that follow is not appropriate for children. This interpretation includes signs considered profane or vulgar. This is a song by Marilyn Manson, who is known for making music related to sensitive issues. References to politics, religion, and sex commonly appear in his lyrics.
Manson's music expresses his own opinion and perspectives... However, one need not share such perspectives in order to appreciate his music. I encourage us to continually challenge the meaning of "music for all". I believe access to music shouldn't be limited to "nice" or "safe" topics, but rather, full inclusion of the diversity that occurs within our music.
I ask that you keep an open mind while you watch. He hope you enjoy, and draw your own conclusions. Thank you". Bjorn took a chance on this - the video speaks for itself. Enjoy!

Mark Nakhla's ASL video is the worst since as similar in the hearies world refered "Rebecca Black's "Friday" Music Video" the worst music video of the century... anyway, back to the ASL issue, a music ASL video that Deaf people as native ASL users barely unable to understand the dudes sign language amateurs are now under fire a horrbile ASL, which is completely different than signs in a signed language, we only see thier gestures.
Signing these dudes claimed that they used ASL to interpret the song of a video which expert ASL teaching consultant saying that it confused alot of Deaf people who watched this. Mark Nakhla's video.

Last a few weeks ago, Sir Paul McCartney just released a music ASL video for "My Valentine" - Featuring Natalie Portman and Johnny Depp in which a video was under fire for major mistake for flubbing a few wrong gestures. Signing tampon instead of appear and enemy instead of valentine. A rep for the British Deaf Association says It would have been nice if genuine Deaf people had been used. However, this video clip is only for American Sign Language, not for British Sign Language.
