Harlem Reacts To 'Harlem Shake' Videos

Viral Video: Harlem Reacts to 'Harlem Shake' Videos (Captioned)

Street interviews with members of the Harlem community, and their views about the popular 'Harlem Shake' video trend and infamous music by: Baauer's Harlem Shake

For the Record, only 2 people interviewed did not make the final cut. One because the microphone was off. And the other because they only spoke for 30 secs. No one was omitted because they did not fit the 'mold'. This is what the people who stopped to talk with us had to say. We did not 'target' anyone. All pedestrians walking by were welcome to stop and talk. These are the people who stopped to talk with us.

Videos shown to participants included versions from DizastaMusic, TheSunnyCoastSkate, & PHLOn NAN.

About 'The Harlem Shake' (Wikipedia):

The Harlem Shake is a dance that originally began in Harlem, New York. Since its beginnings it has spread to other urban areas and became popular in music videos.

The announcers at the Entertainer's Basketball Classic at Rucker Park will tell you that the modern day Harlem Shake was started by a man by the name of "Al B" (nickname Sisqo or Cisco). Al B was an alcoholic that would do the dance upon request. Because of its founder, the dance was originally called the "albee" in Rucker and Harlem, but then later became known as the Harlem Shake. ... Music Video: Mashed Potatoes - Nerven & Zellen

Mashed Potatoes interpretation in Chilean Sign Language by Nerven & Zellen with subtitles.

This video clip of our project NZcanal is a connector between the Deaf, the hearing community, music and art. Created with the aim of becoming a platform of visual entertainment for the entire family, through the dissemination of musical culture and video clip, in order to bring this language to the Deaf community.

Song Mashed Potatoes, played by Cecilia Incomparable. The original song by David Appell and Kal Mann.

Video by Maria Siebald

The project consists of the translation (if necessary) of the artists lyrics national, international, current and legends, then adapt under the syntax of sign language, to finally perform the song in that language with the development of a new video clip, under the concepts of our collective aesthetic Nerven & Zellen: http://www.nervenzellen.cl

As Deaf people may have a closeness with lyrics and musical styles of each artist can also add new words to their vocabulary through the subtitle system. Moreover, hearing people may associate words and signs to become familiar with this language.

In a near future we hope to have a wide range of musical styles that can give life to this channel

Nzcanal is a nonprofit project. Visit http://www.nzcanal.com for more details.

Deaf Art Community of Indonesian

Video: Deaf Art Community - Aku Ingin Menjadi Kupu-Kupu in captioned.

Jakarta, Indonesia - They are just like us, but they did not complain as we are.

What wrong we were born in this world. We also born from the fruit of love just as the children of Adam and Eve perfect, is the word that hurts us as spears inserted in our gut.

What wrong we were born in this world, we also born from the fruit of love just as the children of Adam and Eve just perfect for a normal person and not perfect for the Deaf.

What wrong we were born in this world cynical faces who saw us it was also equally painful but we're still confident that we still have the ability.

Video by anakjogjaid
