Deafndumb.com statement on Michael Hubbs of short track speed skater... Meh, meh, meh, haven't you heard? Before getting ahead of myself here... hasn't anybody gotten the opportunity to see just what Michael Hubbs had vlog'ged in terms to owing up to the community of his supposed-ly, 'back-then' ways of bigotry?
Having once to unbearably witness him, personally, myself the behavior of his own actions pertaining to the superficial negation made against one another, incompetently based on one's own sense of privileges, as sensed by the function of one's occipital lobes and of such granted arrogance. Akin to the skin color, to the person's sex, and to the weight of a person, were more often so the very accusations I had held against Hubbs -IST behaviors.
Often seen prevalently and publicly made on campus, with this blogger account, I inwardly cringe to myself while taking the time to document all things that I had thought he did was wrong, essentially empowering back the community to who I feared were donating their hard earned money... or welfare-ishly given, to Michael Hubbs own narcissistic desires.
Sure. I felt bad. Some called me out on the crab-theory conduct-ee theory where as I could be jealous of his ice-skating way (which by the way is a sport for those who failed on track... I figured, that perhaps ice-skating has the lesser amount of athletes who has the advantage of attaining to an ice rink in colder climates... but nevermind me and my ego-manicidal ways).
Some thought I was much too harsh on this aspiring Olympian-wannabe and should dismiss one of one's past to his ill-ways for the sake of his gold-medal. I never really gave much of a shit, only that I could only but say my piece to which I thought was worthy of speaking out and to call him out on it. ... VIDEO: Michael Hubbs, Deaf, Olympic Hopeful, A Fraud?
deafndumb.com - Michael Hubbs a Fraud: Still recalling the experience as clear as day, six years ago, when I first met this man, Michael Hubbs, back when I was just twenty years old. Coincidentally riding together on the Gallaudet bus over to the Union Station, and apparently so, one curious enough to entice a conversation with me.
Mike sat besides me from my aisle as we rode along without any passengers around. A new face, I thought as I really didn't care much about this person. With one's hair slicked back, a black t-shirt worn with tan cargo shorts, and some grey running shoes on. Waving to get my attention, one asked with a jittery composure, "what's your name?" signing with his mouth open, revealing his pearly white teeth, "do you work out?" as I was already unable to respond to his first inquiry...
'I AM' - Michael Hubbs.
"Clyde..." I responded... although a bit more eagerly, I then added, "yeah... I do work out, it's all that I ever do." Meh, meh, meh..... as a Deafie would gesture with one's lips, acknowledging with intrigue, Mike then asked, "how much do you bench?" "Do you squat?" Again... asking several questions without the proper knowledge of how to actually converse with somebody. I nodded along, "315 lbs... I squat okay, 315 lbs as well." Shaking his head, "that's bad!" he, already, went onto criticize me, as we were passing by New York Ave, onwards Union Station.
Naturally being distracted, I peered out the bus window to see who may have been waiting outside for the bus once only to find that there was nobody else around, before redirecting my attention t'wards Mr. Hubbs, "So hey... where are you going?" he asked. "Pentagon City Mall," I said, "to buy myself some protein and to bullshit around I guess." Meh, meh, meh, Mike did again with his stupid lips, still staring at me with those eyes jolted of such energy that's often found unmatched with most people that I've met. "Mind if I join you? I'm just metro-ing around to get some idea of Washington D.C. before I decide that I enroll myself in Gallaudet University." ... READ MORE: http://www.deafndumb.com/2013/02/michael-hubbs-fraud.html

Michael Hubbs Statement on DeafNDumb.com:
This will be the ONLY ONE TIME statement from me. It’s going to be simple. I have not made any comments ANYWHERE about this blog until now. I took the time to sit back and remain calm. This is a new experience for me. I am not going to make any comments about the blog telling if it was true or not. It does not matter. The point is that you need to ask yourself few questions. Do you really know me? What is the goal of this blog? What exactly is he trying to do and trying to win? Do you know the author? Do you know his history? Everything on the blog is the truth? Have you look at his facebook reading many different comments that he made? Am I the only one that he is pointing at? Why hold the past when it was about 6 or 7 years ago? The truth is let the ACTION do the talk. ... Read more: https://www.facebook.com/samuraiskater

WITNtv - Deaf hunter crawls out of woods, survives serious leg injury after deer stand falls.
Greenville, N.C. - Reporter interview with Joe, who is Deaf, tells his story of falling out of a tree and breaking his leg during a solo hunting trip. It took him 12 hours to crawl from the forest and another several to find aid.
Joe Liuzza got home alive, just barely. Through grit and determination, he was able to win his battle against nature and pull himself and his mangled leg out of a swamp following a hunting-related accident near Robersonville that turned into a 14-hour ordeal.
Liuzza, 47, was home temporarily from the hospital on Dec. 13 and feeling a little more relaxed as he recounted the details of his harrowing experience.
It was easy to see in his features and by the steel cage wrapped around his right lower leg, rods poking through the skin to hold the disconnected portions of his bones in place that he had been through a struggle that he and his wife, Delia, owner of The Tipsy Teapot in Greenville, would never forget.

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA - Deaf Korean Starbucks barista, it’s all in the signs. Although a Starbucks branch in Seocho-dong, southern Seoul, was bustling with coffee lovers at around noon on Monday, employees worked in silence.
Most baristas at Starbucks franchises receive orders from the cashiers verbally, with shouts of machiatto, mochachino and latte echoing throughout the store.
But Hwang Jin, a 33-year-old Deaf barista, receives her orders via hand gestures. Employees give a thumbs-up to signal an Americano and make a “G” sign to confirm it’s a grande.
“When making foam with milk, those who are hearing-impaired rely on the sensation in their hand when frothing the milk instead of the sound,” barista instructor Sung Jeong-min said. “They are more sensitive to the vibrations of the milk steamer and produce a smoother taste in the coffee.”

Iowa State Daily - Deaf with a capital 'D' In today’s world, being politically correct is often hard to do without offending someone. However, for the Deaf with a capital “D” community, phrases and even capitalization or noncapitalization of the word “deaf” can make a huge difference.
Jonathan Webb, American Sign Language instructor and interpreter, explained that if someone is “Deaf,” that means they are culturally Deaf.
“Deaf individuals don’t consider themselves as disabled; they see themselves as a cultural and linguistic minority,” Webb said. “They don’t see themselves as a disability group because they have a shared set of values, shared behavioral norms, shared belief system and a shared language.”
Webb explained that asking a deaf person which type of deaf they are is not considered offensive because the ASL language is very direct.
“Asking someone directly, ‘Do you consider yourself lowercase ‘d’ deaf or capital ‘D’ Deaf,’ if they don’t know the difference, if they go, ‘What do you mean?’ then more than likely they are lowercase ‘d’ deaf,” Webb said. Rachel Johnson, a 37-year-old senior in history, has considered herself culturally Deaf all her life... Read more: http://www.iowastatedaily.com/news/article_f9e77d16-1096-11e2-ba6b-0019bb2963f4.html
