Profound Audism At Gallaudet University

Video: Audism at Gallaudet University in American Sign Language.

Out of the entire world, within the walls of Gallaudet University Deaf Space. Profound Audism occurred. SimComm destroys both ASL and English. Audism also destroys respect for Deaf people and their Deaf World especially at Gallaudet University.

I experienced profound Audism in Gallaudet University out of all places in the world. A place where the environment is safe for all Deaf people. This intrusion of SimComm and voicing is very irritating. I was not even angry at all at first. I wanted to give positive exposure to the fact it's not a good manner and that it is very disrespectful to Deaf people in general when hearing people SimComm, talking with the voice, using cell phones, etc.

Video by spdundas37

I was hoping for dialogue and discussion to bring better understanding, respect and knowledge, but instead, this hearing student who claim to be a Coda got up and yelled at me with such profound venom, disrespect and hate. Such display of profound oppression has left me shocked and loss of words and thoughts. It even affected my friends at the table.

What hurts me more is that there are other Deaf people there who agreed with me, but sat and did nothing to stand up against Audism. I was even more shocked with the level of apathy. Are we so oppressed and thinking it's so difficult to fight it and we give up and just succumb to it?

I need your help to put an end to Audism from hearing students and put an end to apathy of Deaf people or their lack of courage to stand up for ASL and Deaf World.

My vlog is not an attempt to degrade or belittle other people most especially the hearing group/Coda I was referring about. My point was to bring this up to discussion and to raise awareness of Audism and acknowledgement of Deaf Space at Gallaudet University.

Please remain respectful and civil to each other in hopes we all meet together in harmony and mutual respect. Finally, I truly want to thank those who have shown support and encouragement. Thank you. Shane.

Racism/Discrimination in the Deaf/CODA Community

Video with subtitles - Racism/Discrimination in the Deaf/CODA Community.

Is Racism as big of an issue within the Deaf/CODA community in comparison to the mainstream hearing community? In addition to being a CODA, I ponder two other things in my "need to get this out of my head" ramble that may contribute to my personal tendency to avoid discriminating against others.

Deaf Video Web Chaotic Situation of Stereotype Examples

Stereotype Examples: Deaf Trash, Deafhood, Beasthood, Orange Group, Blue Group, etc!

Vlog In American Sign Language (ASL), I wanted to share my own opinion and based on my observation of the recent chaotic situation in the deaf video web. I wanted to quote the description of a stereotype. It is a public belief about a certain social group or a type of individual. Stereotype is always based on any prior assumption by the certain groups or individuals. Stereotypes are often created about people of specific cultures or races. So any time if you are grouping races or individuals together. You tend to make a judgment about them without knowing them. This is a classical example of a stereotype. Racial remarks, sexual remarks, and gender remarks are the biggest stereotypes.

So what I see in this DVtv, a deaf social network with the diversities of deaf people all around the world is now focusing on the stereotyping against each others within the deaf communities. "Deafhood", "Beasthood", "Orange Group", "Blue Group", "Deaf Trash", "Low Functions" and the lists goes on were the subject of the deaf stereotypes. That kind of stereotyping approaches in this DVtv should be avoided...Why can't we get along with each others and just be you!!!! Take pride and believing in youself to create the video is the best solution. There is the list of the stereotype examples at the end of the video. Subscribe DJDeafJoey

My Experience With "Bullying" At Three Different Schools

My experience with "bullying" at three different schools in American Sign Language.

When I was young student and went three different mainstream schools. The mainstream students were bulling at me and cause my life become trouble. Of course, my grade got bad too. My mother decided and sent me to Va school for the Deaf and Blind at Staunton, VA. Through 6 years I'd suffered from bullying by the mainstream students.

Until I decided to transfer to MSSD from VSDB for a good reason that I need to keep away from them.

When Haters Gonna Still Hate, Stop The Deaf Bullies

When haters gonna still hate, stop the Deaf bullies.

The Vlogsphere/Blogsphere are so obsessed with Sloan Churman's inspiring video where Sarah Churman hears her own voice for the first time after a lifetime of being Deaf as seen on 29 Year Old Deaf Woman Hears Herself For The First Time which still debating on the internet.

The several people most assumed and accusations that hearing impaired that did the comments under Sloan Churman's inspiring video for instance, The Damage Has Been Done! which is absolutely no proven by hearing impaired people that did this. What. 50K comments, majority of hearing impaired people attacking?.. 50K? oh puh-eeease.

Some time passed before I found an excellent example of the earlier point as similar of the videos.

An amazing and touching video of a young woman turning on her passionate message on Youtube whereas a simple, "Stop The Deaf Bullies Video" posted by Emily Darcy which she is implantable hearing as Sarah Churman would have been both sufficient and polite, many people chose to turn the video's comment section into their own personal political platform. Several of them did it in the most tactless way possible, offering up flat out insults and not even constructive points. Many people even attacked the beliefs of the videos, therefore, there's no difference between these the videos.

But then the sad thing is that you'll get your usual haters in the comment section as always by a bunch of idiots and then you have a bunch of ignorant like naysayers, haters and extremist people who can't even understand that Deaf/HH people can speaks out how they feels. You'll have to spend some time to find and read those nasty comments as you can seen on: Stop The Deaf Bullies -All Comments

There was a competition to make a video about the 'Deaf bullying' so I thought to make one because I'm also Deaf and just showing the haters out there what being Deaf is really like. Bullying the Deaf people is pathetic because it's not their fault for being Deaf. I hope all of you's understand this video cause basically of the Deaf people do get bullied for it, but look, we've got the most amazing life.

For your information, DYV posted this article, however, When Haters Gonna Still Hate And The Clueless Ones Continue To Be Clueless known as blogger kokonutpundits realized and changed the story to cover it up as continued biased editing is bringing it and contributors into disrepute after we posted this issued, You can see kokonutpundits' ingorant comment on theholism's blog article "The Damage Has Been Done". It's obvious stereotypical. For example, Grab to peek Ridor9th's vlog related this issue: October 18, 2011 Tidbits - This is for you, Mickey Mouse (KokonutPundits)

Deaf Trash ?

Video: Deaf Trash? in ASL/Captioned.

There are pejorative term out there known as 'white trash' and 'black trash' that led me to think about the existence of 'Deaf trash' within the Deaf community. Is it the reason why places like DeafVideo.TV has become what it is today, attracting socially isolated and financially poor Deaf people with low social skills and living standards? Thus the birth of 'Deaf trash' made visible for the rest of the world to see? It seem to be my greatest fear but then I know it's probably beyond me...meaning it is something I simply can't control.

However it does not stop me from fellowshipping with hope that we'd be able to educate them and help them rise to a new level. But the boiling question is, do I belong there and become one of them? The answer is yes. Ask yourself the same question and think about it.
